Grade D 45% - 49% Marginal Fail
Grade E 30% - 44% Fail
Grade F 29% or less Outright Fail

Assessment Procedures

 

Examination Based Assessments

Students will be required to undertake a three hour written exam for each module at Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma levels.

The exam format will consist of Section 1, Q1 compulsory (40%) and Section 2 three further questions from a choice of 6 (20% each). Q1 will take the format of a mini case study or scenario related to the core components of the module syllabus.

Resits: students will be eligible to resit papers in the following examination cycle.

Appeals: students have the right to appeal on payment of the Examination Appeal Fee.

Introductory Certificate Examination

Students will be required to undertake a two hour exam comprising:

Project Based Assessment

 

Higher Diploma Project

A project based assessment is required on the Higher Diploma (Operations Management in the Business Environment, HD6):

  1. The student will submit a project proposal that will be approved by the OTHM delivery centre.
  2. Submission dates and deadlines will be controlled by OTHM.
  3. Students will need to evidence original research and also produce a clear bibliography
  4. Project will be double-marked by the delivery centre prior to submission to OTHM (results at this stage will not be validated)
  5. OTHM will externally verify projects and issue a result
  6. Students may resubmit projects if required to coincide with the next examination cycle.

Examination Entry

To be eligible to sit OTHM examinations students should be registered as OTHM Student Members and paid the appropriate examination fee in advance.

Issuing of Results

Results will be communicated via OTHM approved centres. Result sheets will show each student’s grades.
